Wishing to fullfill even the smallest wishes of local people

From in-house delivery network to social infrastructure -- Our current business evolution
On July 1, 2025, Kakuyasu Group Co., Ltd. changed its corporate name to HitoMile Co., Ltd.
Our strength lies in our meticulous delivery system, which leverages our in-house delivery network. We deliver products on the same day, permitting customers to specify the hour of their delivery, without lot constraints. We provide this service 365 days a year, mainly in downtown areas. This service is available nowhere else. Our history of having continued to hone this delivery business through trial and error is also a point of pride for our employees.
Under these circumstances, we have taken a first step in turning this highly unique delivery system and our system for providing one-stop services, from order acceptance to delivery, billing, and settlement, into a new platform for the community while also focusing on liquor sales as our existing business. The change in our corporate name is part of this initiative.
First, we will expand our in-house delivery network to deliver goods for other companies as well. This will enable different kinds of companies, which do not have their own delivery networks, to deliver their products on the same day. This should be a great advantage for our business partners because Japan is now seeing an increasing number of busy two-earner and senior households, which means high demand for same-day delivery.
In addition, by leveraging our track record of having collected returnable bottles, we are also working on circular logistics (2-way service), including not only delivering products but also taking and returning goods. This makes it possible to collaborate with a range of businesses, such as picking up goods for repair and collecting shipments of goods to be cleaned.
By integrating with our partner companies we will help usher in the future of delivery
We have also begun to enhance the lineup of goods we offer. We are about to complete a system for delivering a wide range of products, including daily commodities and household goods, to eating and drinking establishments and private customers. This will also create synergy with our existing businesses and enable us to offer a broader array of services.
We are advancing this transformation with an aggressive M&A strategy. In 2021, our Group was joined by Meiwa Bussan, which regularly delivers a wide variety of products, principally dairy products as well as salad, prepared food, and sundries in the Tokyo metropolitan area. In August 2024, Daiwa Express, a perishable food delivery company that has a delivery network in the Kanto area, joined our Group.
This will not only increase the products we can deliver but also enable us to share our accumulated expertise. The questions of who will do last one mile delivery in what way and how to develop the infrastructure for delivery have emerged as social issues in Japan, and an industry reorganization is taking place. Under these circumstances, we have decided to take on a challenge here with a strong sense of mission to develop our unique delivery system into a social infrastructure.
At the same time, we are also pursuing new initiatives in liquor sales, the business with which we were founded. In 2020, our Group welcomed as new members Dangami Co., Ltd., a retailer of liquor for commercial use operating mainly in Fukuoka, and then by Sannoh Co., Ltd., a retailer of liquor for commercial use operating mainly in the Nakasu area of Fukuoka City.
The value of the new HitoMile that is passed down through challenges taken on by employees
To fulfill our social mission, each employee must be positive about business achievements and grow together with the Company. We have therefore evolved the SPIRIT OF KAKUYASU, which is our action guidelines, and adopted the HitoMile Spirits. Its contents include continuing to take on challenges and evolve and enjoying anything with full force.
For example, when a system issue arose at our call center, people from other departments gathered voluntarily, without being specifically instructed to do so, saying "Is there anything I can do?" This enabled a rapid recovery. This episode symbolizes "We help each other as a matter of course," one of the constituents of "What makes HitoMile distinctive." It also embodies our spirit, such as "Be trusted by anyone," "Make decisions and take actions independently," and "Be considerate of people and local communities."
At HitoMile, we have countless such episodes. In other words, our greatest asset is our people (hito). We therefore made HitoMile Spirits, our aspirations as compiled by employees, our action guidelines. We will focus on creating an organization where the capabilities of each employee is demonstrated, such as through the realization of diverse workstyles, autonomous career formation, and the development of next-generation human resources.
Our aspirations reflected in the name, HitoMile
We began selling liquor in 1921, moving into wholesale for eating and drinking establishments in the 1950s. In the 1990s, we began mass retail and discount sales in response to the economic bubble. Later, in response to the deregulation of liquor sales licenses, we began to focus on delivery, which is our strength. We have continued to evolve with these and other initiatives.
And we have changed our corporate name to HitoMile.
It is our people (hito in Japanese) that enable the meticulous customer services that are the strength of our Group. Our people, who are committed to meeting customers' expectations at all times, are ready to cordially deliver products. We also engage in last mile delivery to customers by leveraging our delivery network, which extends like capillaries. We combined these meanings into the new company name, HitoMile.
We sincerely ask for your support for HitoMile as it continues to evolve.
